Mid Autumn Festival

The Mid Autumn Festival is a very important holiday in the Chinese Culture and to many Asian countries.  It is also known as Harvest Festival, Moon Festival, Moon Cake Festival, August Moon Festival, Lantern Festival or Tsukimai.

It falls on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Lunar Calendar. In our Gregorian calendar, it usually occurs between the second week of September to the first two week of October.  This day, the moon seems to be the fullest and the brightest of the year. This festival is also considered to be the Thanksgiving holiday of the East and a time to celebrate the end of fall harvest.
